The Department of Mathematics of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam welcomes applications for a Postdoctoral position (2 years with possible extension to 3 years) in mathematical statistics. The position is broad: we are looking for candidates with a strong track record in mathematical statistics who will develop their own research agenda, with considerable freedom and independence, provided it aligns well with the research of the statistics group. Topics that would fit well include nonparametric and high-dimensional inference, quantile regression, Bayesian nonparametrics and sequential inference. Preference will be given to candidates who can connect to existing research strengths in the department. We are an inclusive, interdisciplinary group, and diversity and internationalism are at the heart of our research principles, as well as our teaching practice.
The preferred starting date is 1 September .

What do we offer?
A rewarding position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €4, and a maximum of €5,. The job profile is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for 0.8-1.0 FTE.
