Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands or Ghent, Belgium (hybrid, minimum two days a week in the office)
Are you the person customers are glad to hear from, even when you’re chasing payment? Can you run credit control on your own across several countries and make it look easy?
Our client is a leading global provider of clinical research and central laboratory services, supporting biopharma and biotech organisations from early research through to commercialisation. They are looking for a Global Credit Controller to own credit and collections across the Netherlands, Belgium and the US.
You’ll be the main finance contact for clients, including long-term, high-value customers, keeping cash coming in on time while protecting the relationship. This is a standalone seat. You’ll run the full process yourself, from credit checks and collections to resolving billing disputes, working with project management, contracts, commercial teams and country finance leads.
Why Join?
Real Ownership
- Credit control for three countries sits with you, with no layers between you and the result.
Client Facing
- You’ll work directly with client finance teams, most of them in the US.
Cross-functional Reach
- You’ll work with project, contracts, commercial and legal teams and see how the whole business fits together.
Your Responsibilities
Own the accounts receivable ageing schedule and keep days sales outstanding within target
Forecast incoming payments with the country finance controllers
Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing clients, and monitor credit limits and exposure across entities and currencies
Act as the primary finance contact for key global clients
Resolve invoice discrepancies and disputes with commercial, project and account management teams
Report on collections, ageing and credit risk, and support the monthly bad debt provision
Improve credit control processes and introduce automation where it makes sense
About You You know the order to cash cycle from billing to cash received, and you’re comfortable making decisions without a team behind you. You write as well as you speak, because a lot of this role happens in email and on calls with customers.
5+ years in credit control or accounts receivable, ideally in an international organisation
Proven experience managing complex, high-value or strategic client accounts
Strong written and spoken English
Experience resolving disputes and working with internal stakeholders to get answers
Comfortable working across entities, currencies and time zones
SAP S/4HANA preferred, plus advanced Excel or Power BI
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field. CICM is desirable
