Freelance Site Integration & Connectivity Lead | 12 month Contract

Amsterdam | Occasional Site Visits Up to €92.50 per hour We're working with a fast growing energy transition business that is building out a portfolio of grid scale assets. Every new site brings controllers, meters, edge devices, network links and data feeds to grid operators and market partners. This role owns how all of it connects, from design and commissioning through to a repeatable standard for every site that follows. What you'll do

Design site networks, covering segmentation, industrial firewalls, VPN and remote access, and mobile and fibre backhaul Integrate site systems and metering with central SCADA, grid operators and market partners over IEC 104, IEC 61850, Modbus, MQTT and REST Lead design reviews, acceptance testing and commissioning, proving data is complete and accurate before go live Build and own the site standard that future projects are delivered against Act as the technical counterpart to vendors and installers, challenging designs and signing off deliverables Handle escalated connectivity incidents on live sites and feed fixes back into the standard What you'll need

Medior Level: 3 to 6 years in system integration, industrial IT/OT or network engineering, ideally across energy, storage, solar or grid Hands on experience designing and troubleshooting industrial networks, not just operating them Proven FAT/SAT and commissioning experience, holding installers to a standard Working knowledge of IEC 104, IEC 61850 and Modbus TCP/RTU Bonus Skills: OT security (IEC 62443, NIS2), Dutch, VCA, cloud ingestion (MQTT, Pub/Sub).
