Senior Planner in Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Netherlands (On-site) Contract: Freelance | 12+ Months Start Date: November / December 2026 The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Planner to support the construction and commissioning phases of a hyperscale data centre project in Amsterdam.
The project involves the installation and integration of critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure, with particular emphasis on construction completion, energisation and commissioning milestones.
The successful candidate will manage the MEP and commissioning schedule, ensuring all subcontractor activities are coordinated and aligned with the overall project delivery programme.
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed Level 3 / Level 4 MEP and commissioning schedules using Primavera P6.
Coordinate electrical installation activities, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators and power distribution.
Integrate mechanical construction activities, including HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAH units and cooling infrastructure.
Monitor subcontractor progress and ensure installation milestones are achieved.
Coordinate construction completion, mechanical completion and system handover activities.
Integrate Level 1–5 commissioning activities, including equipment testing, energisation, functional performance testing and integrated systems testing.
Identify critical path activities and potential schedule delays.
Develop recovery programmes and mitigation strategies where required.
Produce weekly progress reports, lookahead schedules and commissioning readiness reports.
Work closely with MEP contractors, commissioning managers and project controls teams.
Requirements Minimum 7+ years' experience in project planning / scheduling.
Proven data centre construction experience, ideally involving MEP and commissioning phases.
Advanced Primavera P6 proficiency.
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems within hyperscale data centres.
Experience integrating construction and commissioning schedules.
Knowledge of Level 1–5 commissioning processes and system handover requirements.
English essential; Dutch advantageous.
