Our client creates desserts and snacks for airlines and the international travel market. You’ll be based at Maastricht Aachen Airport, with planes taking off right outside the window. The company is growing fast, the team is small and informal, and good ideas are put into practice quickly. You’ll join a purchasing team of three, led by an international manager. No endless rounds of approval: here, you’ll see the impact of your work straight away.

Every dessert served on a plane starts somewhere, and at our client, that’s with you. You make sure every ingredient and product arrives on time and at the right price. This isn’t a department that has been running on autopilot for years: purchasing is being formally set up right now, and you’ll help build it from day one.

• Source products and build lasting relationships with suppliers
• Request and compare quotes, and negotiate until the deal is right
• Run the numbers on prices and margins, so you know exactly what each decision is worth
• Attend trade fairs to discover new products and suppliers
• Help design the purchasing process and roll it out together with your colleagues
• Work closely with production, quality and sales on a daily basis

Functie-eisen

Purchasing comes naturally to you. You know when a price is too high, you are not afraid to challenge suppliers, and you enjoy a good negotiation.

In addition:

• You have at least MBO+ level of working and thinking, preferably with a completed HBO degree.
• You have proven experience as a buyer, preferably within the food or manufacturing industry.
• You are confident working with numbers and calculations.
• You have a good command of written and spoken English. Dutch is an advantage.
• You are able to work independently and maintain a clear overview of your responsibilities.
• You enjoy building and developing something rather than simply maintaining existing processes.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

• A gross monthly salary between €3,000 and €3,500, depending on your experience.
• 25 vacation days and 8% holiday allowance.
• Pension scheme from day one.
• Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre.
• Full-time working hours from 08:30 to 17:00.
• Direct employment with the client.
