The MySQL engineer, specialist or architect supports enterprise MySQL database environments across on‑premises, hosted and cloud platforms. The role ensures database availability, performance, security and recoverability. Key responsibilities
Monitor MySQL databases, replication, jobs, storage and capacity. Resolve database incidents and service requests. Perform installation, configuration, patching and version upgrades. Administer backup, restore and recovery processes. Configure and support replication, clustering and high availability. Analyse and optimise queries and database performance. Maintain user access, permissions, encryption and auditing controls. Support migrations between platforms or hosting models. Develop scripts and automation for operational database management. Participate in resilience and disaster‑recovery testing. At senior levels, lead complex performance, corruption and recovery investigations. At L5, define architecture patterns, standards and lifecycle roadmaps. Technical knowledge
