At MCA Engineering, we are looking for an experienced
Automotive Systems Engineer
to join an innovative project within the commercial vehicle industry. In this role, you will contribute to the development and integration of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), focusing on vehicle electronics, system functionality and communication between electronic control units (ECUs). You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure that system requirements, functional specifications and interfaces are correctly defined, implemented and validated. This is a hands-on systems engineering position with a strong technical focus, rather than a traditional embedded software development or people-management role. Your Responsibilities
Define, analyze and maintain system-level requirements and functional specifications for ADAS functionalities. Support the development and integration of radar-based driver assistance systems. Analyze CAN communication, vehicle signals and interfaces between ECUs. Define and coordinate functional interfaces between vehicle electronic systems and modules. Translate system requirements into technical specifications for hardware and software engineering teams. Investigate system-level issues, perform root-cause analysis and support technical problem-solving. Collaborate with internal engineering teams, suppliers and other stakeholders. Support system integration, verification, validation and release activities. Ensure compliance with automotive development processes, including requirements traceability and V-cycle methodologies. Your Profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering or a related technical field. Proven experience in
automotive systems engineering , preferably involving vehicle electronics or ADAS. Hands-on experience with ADAS functionality , such as radar-based systems, blind spot detection or other driver assistance features. Strong knowledge of CAN communication , including vehicle networks, CAN signals and ECU interfaces. Experience with system requirements, functional specifications and system integration. Understanding of automotive electrical/electronic (E/E) architectures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Nice to Have
Experience with radar systems and vehicle safety functionalities. Knowledge of Body Control Modules or other vehicle electronic modules. Experience with Vector CANoe, CANalyzer or CANape. Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity (ISO 21434). Familiarity with functional safety (ISO 26262), DFMEA and diagnostics. Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS. Knowledge of automotive development processes, including ASPICE and V-cycle methodologies. Experience within passenger-car or commercial-vehicle development.
