*About the role*
Are you passionate about technology, AI and automation? Do you enjoy solving technical challenges and turning new ideas into practical solutions?
At Marine Care, we are looking for an AI & Automation Engineer to help us improve our business processes through artificial intelligence, automation and smart system integrations. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with our ICT Manager, colleagues across the business and external technology partners to develop innovative solutions that make our daily operations more efficient.
Alongside AI development, you will contribute to our day-to-day IT environment, supporting colleagues and helping improve our business applications and digital workplace. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid technical foundation who wants to develop their skills in AI and automation while gaining broad experience across IT and business operations.
*What will you do?*
*AI & Automation*
- Develop and improve AI solutions and automated workflows to reduce manual work and streamline business processes.
- Build practical tools and integrations using AI technologies, Large Language Models (LLMs) and APIs.
- Identify opportunities to use AI and data to improve processes across departments, including Sales, Supply Chain and Pricing.
- Further develop our AI-powered Time-to-Quote solution, improving product matching and quotation processing.
*IT Support & System Integration*
- Provide hands-on IT support to colleagues and help resolve day-to-day technical issues.
- Support and improve business applications, system integrations and our wider IT environment.
- Work with the ICT Manager and external partners to troubleshoot issues and implement technical improvements.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint, as well as user access and document management.
- Assist with IT onboarding and offboarding, including equipment, accounts and access rights.
*AI Governance & Continuous Improvement*
- Help ensure AI solutions are secure, reliable and used responsibly in line with company policies.
- Contribute to AI guidelines and help colleagues understand and adopt AI tools through practical training and guidance.
- Explore new technologies, identify opportunities for improvement and translate business needs into practical solutions.
*What are we looking for?*
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent working and thinking level in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
- Preferably 2–3 years of relevant experience in software development, IT engineering or automation.
- Programming experience in Python, JavaScript, C# or a similar language, with knowledge of SQL, APIs and system integrations.
- An interest in AI, LLMs and automation, combined with an understanding of information security.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint. Familiarity with SharePoint administration and user access management is an advantage.
- Experience with cloud platforms, AI frameworks, ERP systems such as SAP Business One, or Microsoft Entra ID is a plus.
- A good command of English.
Just as important is your mindset. You are curious, analytical and proactive, enjoy solving problems and are eager to learn. You take a hands-on approach, work well with others and can translate technical possibilities into practical business improvements.
You do not need to know everything already. We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, a genuine interest in AI and the motivation to grow with the role.
*What do we offer?*
We offer a full-time position with a monthly salary of €4,250–€5,250, depending on experience and qualifications, plus 8% holiday allowance (based on full-time employment).
You will receive 24 days of annual leave, plus one additional day off on either Good Friday or the day after Ascension Day. We also provide a travel allowance of €0.25 per kilometre, capped at a one-way commuting distance of 50 km. We also enjoy sharing a freshly prepared lunch together twice a week.
