Overview
As an R&D Engineer in a hands-on environment, you will help develop renewable industrial heat solutions combining solar thermal, Power-to-Heat and Thermal Energy Storage. You will move from concept through prototype, validation and field deployment, working closely with cross-functional teams. Your work will improve efficiency, reliability and scalability of physical technologies in a decarbonisation-focused company. You will gain exposure to international testing and implementation of novel thermal systems.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Develop and improve components and systems for renewable industrial heat
- Manage full product development cycle from concept to prototype and validation
- Perform mechanical and thermodynamic calculations and simulations
- Design and develop new components and system improvements
- Build and test prototypes and validate technical solutions
- Analyze system performance to identify efficiency and reliability improvements
- Collaborate with suppliers to source and develop new components
- Prepare designs for manufacture and deployment
- Support installation, testing and commissioning of prototypes
- Coordinate with electrical, engineering, project and commercial teams
- Travel internationally for prototype installation and testing when required
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Ideally 3+ years of relevant engineering/R&D experience
- Strong theoretical and practical engineering skills
- Experience with product development, prototyping or engineering projects
- Comfortable moving between calculations/design work and hands-on testing
- Experience with thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanical systems or energy technology
- Strong problem-solving ability and a hands-on mindset
- Interest in renewable energy and industrial decarbonisation
- Willingness to travel internationally
