Overview
As Legal Counsel, you will act as a trusted business partner for the Damen Shiprepair division, delivering pragmatic legal and contractual guidance across tendering, negotiations, execution, claims, and close-out. You will support complex shiprepair, conversion, and offshore projects, working with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks while enabling project success. This role offers exposure to international projects, collaboration within a global legal network, and meaningful impact on project outcomes.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Provide legal advice to the business across all areas
- Lead review, drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements including ship repair contracts, Bimco Repaircon, NDAs and subcontract agreements
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations
- Support large and complex projects as contract management advisor throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with the Damen Group legal, contract management, compliance, risk and insurance teams and act as a One Damen ambassador
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Master’s degree in Law
- 2-5 years of experience in contract law (drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements)
- Experience in international shipbuilding/manufacturing/construction is a plus but not mandatory
- Accurate and quality-oriented
- Strong intercultural communication and negotiation skills
- Team player and independent worker
- Excellent command of English; French is an advantage
- Ability to travel occasionally to yards
