Overview
In this onsite role at Huntsman’s Rotterdam polyurethane site, you will lead EHS planning and practical risk controls for turnarounds, projects and high‑risk work. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance and Contractors to identify risks early and translate requirements into actionable controls. You’ll coach field teams, support investigations and ensure compliance with Seveso and site requirements. This is a hands‑on, field‑oriented role that shapes safety delivery across complex maintenance and project activities. You will drive risk‑based decision making and continuous improvement in a high‑hazard environment.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Lead EHS planning and execution for turnarounds, shutdowns, projects, major maintenance and high‑risk work
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Projects and contractors to identify risks and implement practical controls
- Facilitate risk assessments for non‑routine work, simultaneous operations, permit‑to‑work and contractor activities
- Provide visible field coaching during planning and execution and escalate unclear or ineffective controls
- Support investigations, audits, walkdowns and corrective actions as part of day‑to‑day plant EHS delivery
- Coordinate specialist support for fire risk, PPE, respiratory protection, asbestos, gas measurement and translate Seveso and site EHS requirements into procedures
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Significant EHS, safety engineering or operational risk management experience in a high‑hazard industrial environment
- Engineering degree or relevant technical background; flexibility for turnaround hours
- Hands‑on experience supporting turnarounds, shutdowns, maintenance, projects or contractor‑intensive work
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, permit‑to‑work interfaces, contractor safety, simultaneous operations and non‑routine controls
- Ability to influence operations and contractors through technical credibility and collaboration
- Relevant technical or safety qualification or equivalent practical experience; ability to translate requirements into practical controls
- Chemical, petrochemical, refinery or Seveso / COMAH site experience
- MVK, HVK or equivalent safety qualification; HVK preferred with relevant experience
- Fire risk management or fire risk assessor experience
- Experience with capital projects, maintenance programmes or major turnaround planning and execution
