Overview
In this role you support the Netherlands & Belgium Accounting team, ensuring accurate financial operations and reporting in an international setting. You’ll help maintain compliance across processes, contribute to reporting and controls, and back‑up the small team to sustain continuity. You work closely with the Country Manager and regional finance, driving improvements and cross‑functional collaboration. This position offers exposure to regional and global finance initiatives in a dynamic, English‑Dutch environment.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Provide hands‑on operational support to the Netherlands & Belgium Accounting team
- Help ensure compliance with internal and external processes, including legal, tax, HR, reporting, contractual, insurance, and other obligations
- Support achievement of team targets and maintain a 100% back‑up structure within the small team
- Maintain a strong understanding of all accounting tasks and procedures to ensure continuity
- Act as a key contact point for accounting matters and support the Country Manager and Regional Finance functions
- Assist with financial reporting, controls, and process improvements within the department
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Certified Accountant (Finance/Accounting/Reporting/Taxes)
- Professional experience in accounting/finance in international/global companies
- Strong analytical skills, high reliability, professional work ethic
- Team‑oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid knowledge of Finance & Accounting principles and strong MS Office skills
- Experience with SAP and knowledge of the shipping industry are advantageous
- Languages: Fluent English and Dutch (required)
