Overview
In this role you translate client requirements into practical, innovative ship design concepts. You collaborate with Structural Engineers to refine designs through basic and detailed stages, and you guide draftsmen to produce accurate drawings that meet standards. The position balances customer needs with regulations and quality to deliver efficient, feasible solutions. You contribute to greener shipping initiatives and help set the technical direction for projects.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Convert customer requirements into feasible design concepts during the concept phase
- Develop initial designs with basic calculations to assess feasibility
- Collaborate with Structural Engineers during basic design to align concepts with project specs
- Guide draftsmen in the detailed design phase and provide clear technical instructions
- Review and validate drawings to ensure compliance with project standards
- Ensure designs are logical, feasible, and aligned with Royal Roos’ technical standards
- Balance customer needs with regulations and quality requirements to deliver effective designs
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 5+ years of experience in a similar marine/offshore or related technical role
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software
- Ability to perform initial structural assessments and analyze force transmission in structures
- Knowledge of industry standards for steel detailing and fabrication
- Strong English language skills (written and verbal)
