Overview
In this PA&S role, you drive the establishment and maintenance of the PA&S baseline across project elements, ensuring alignment with ESA policies.
You’ll collaborate across engineering disciplines to prepare and review PA&S documentation, monitor status, and address non-conformances and safety issues.
You’ll support reviews, acceptance activities, and boards, contributing to risk management, quality assurance, and lessons learned.
This position places you at the heart of European space programs, offering exposure to diverse, multinational teams and challenging missions.
- Verantwoordelijkheden
- Establish PA&S requirements baseline for project elements per ESA policies
- Produce and maintain PA&S documentation with defined inputs, outputs, responsibilities, and interfaces
- Review ESA contractor plans, specifications, and PA&S efforts
- Monitor PA&S status, identify NCRs, anomalies, failures, and track actions and reporting
- Assess implementation of PA&S requirements by ESA contractors
- Support governance boards for non-conformances, M&P, EEE, and test reviews
- Assist QA/audit activities across manufacturing, integration, and testing, including witness points and inspections
- Define formal acceptance criteria and coordinate acceptance reviews for contractual deliverables
- Prepare data packages and coordinate inputs for project/program documents
- Support program reviews with technical input and, if requested, participate in review panels
- Coordinate PA&S discipline experts (RAMS, SW PA, M&P, EEE, C&C) and manage NCRs/waivers/deviations
- Prepare NRB/CCB agendas and minutes, ensuring input availability and action follow-up
- Contribute to project meetings, safety reviews, and documentation (minutes/reports)
- Support technology readiness assessments and MAIT/launch campaign activities as needed
- Report PA&S status to the service manager and ESA according to prescribed formats
- Provide PA support to ESA Technical Officer for R&D and technology development
- Coordinate internal/external training on PA&S processes
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to knowledge management
- Establish PA&S dashboards and trend analyses
- Witness MAIT activities and potentially long-term industry placements when required
- Travel for mission-related PA&S activities in and outside Europe

- Master’s degree in engineering
- 10+ years of space sector experience, including 5+ years in Product and Quality Assurance
- Proven track record in PA&S activities for spacecraft units
- Experience with spacecraft-level test campaigns is beneficial
