Overview
As a Senior L3 VMware Cloud Engineer, you will be the technical escalation point for L1/L2 teams in a large private cloud. You will resolve complex incidents, manage changes, and drive lifecycle activities in a high-availability, security-sensitive environment. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to strengthen VMware-based infrastructure and ensure stability, performance, and security. This role offers impact through shaping operational practices and advancing technical specialization within a Dutch-based team.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Provide L3 support for L1/L2 Service Desk teams
- Resolve complex incidents and manage changes at L3 level
- Troubleshoot and maintain large VMware private cloud with HA/DR
- Prepare and execute non-standard changes and runbooks; participate in CAB
- Perform production plan activities including vulnerability remediation and patch cycles
- Oversee lifecycle management: software, firmware, patches, platform and hardware upgrades
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 2+ years as an L3 engineer in a large VMware/private cloud with HA/DR
- Fluent Dutch (speaking, reading, writing)
- Eligible for AIVD screening and reside in the Netherlands
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent communication with internal teams and stakeholders
- Willingness to work outside standard hours for customer-impacting changes
- Ability to create and update technical documentation
- Demonstrated leadership in developing technical specialisms

- VCP certification (vSphere 6.x and/or 7.x)
- 2+ years in large VMware cloud environment: 10+ vCenters, 500+ physical servers
- Hands-on with vSAN and vSAN ReadyNodes/VxRail
