Overview
In this role you will lead and develop a team of customs professionals within a fast-paced, regulated logistics environment. You will oversee daily import/export declarations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive performance through KPI monitoring and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with customers, authorities, and internal stakeholders to maintain high service and compliance standards. This leadership role offers an opportunity to shape customs operations during a period of transformation and growth in a global setting.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of customs specialists to deliver high performance and service.
- Oversee daily customs clearance activities for imports and exports.
- Ensure compliance with customs legislation, trade compliance, and security regulations.
- Plan workload, allocate resources, and prioritise operations to meet SLAs.
- Serve as escalation point for complex issues and delays.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor procedures and controls for accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze performance via KPIs and drive corrective actions.
- Support training to strengthen technical customs expertise across the team.
- Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Minimum 5 years in customs, international trade, freight forwarding, or logistics operations.
- At least 2 years in leadership or team management.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and trade compliance.
- Experience managing customs declarations across multiple transport modes.
- Proven track record of leading teams and achieving high operational performance.
- Understanding of customs systems and related technology platforms.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
