Overview
In this Customs Supervisor role you will lead a busy customs function within a global logistics operation. You will mentor a team of customs specialists, ensure accurate and compliant declarations, and drive continuous improvement across processes. You’ll collaborate with warehousing, transport, and contract logistics teams while maintaining strong relationships with authorities and internal stakeholders. This is a visible leadership position focused on operational excellence, compliance, and delivering high service levels in a fast-paced, international environment.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Lead, coach, and motivate the Customs team
- Ensure accurate and timely customs declarations and related processes
- Oversee bonded warehouse administration and compliance activities
- Act as a key system user for customs tools, supporting reporting, reconciliations, and payments
- Support audits and ensure adherence to legislation, AEO requirements, and internal policies
- Drive process improvements and best practices across customs operations
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions
- Maintain strong relationships with authorities, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Manage representation agreements and ensure ongoing compliance
- Collaborate with warehousing, transport, and contract logistics teams to deliver service excellence
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Minimum 5 years of experience in customs, logistics, freight forwarding, or international trade
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a customs environment
- Strong understanding of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and compliance
- Experience with bonded warehousing and contract logistics operations (desirable)
- Strong knowledge of customs software and processes
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to prioritize and perform in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
