Overview
As Discipline Manager, you lead the engineering discipline across the project lifecycle and act as the primary technical authority. You ensure alignment between the EPCM contractor, clients, and internal teams, driving quality, safety, and efficient delivery. You will resolve complex technical challenges, approve design decisions, and secure operations input for sustainable project outcomes. This role offers influence over design quality, risk management, and cross-functional coordination within a critical owner’s team.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Direct and oversee discipline-specific engineering operations throughout the project lifecycle
- Serve as primary point of contact for alignment among EPCM Contractor, Client Site Representatives, and home-office discipline teams
- Monitor contractor performance, clarify scope/quality/budget/deliverables, escalate risks
- Provide expert technical advice and solutions to complex engineering challenges
- Approve and execute key design decisions per authorization procedures
- Ensure design input from operations, maintenance, and site representatives
- Conduct site inspections and data verification with EPCM contractor as needed
- Support procurement activities and align site management with project team
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with proven leadership on large capital/EPCM projects
- Deep expertise in discipline-specific engineering, Operational Excellence Standards, HSE guidelines, and process design reviews
- Strong contractor and stakeholder management with ability to hold EPCM contractors accountable
- Decisive, big-picture problem solver with a focus on safety culture and rapid issue resolution across diverse teams
