Overview
In this leadership role, you drive lubrication R&D by leading the Grease Life and Friction modeling efforts and translating experimental results into robust models. You mentor a team of lubrication experts and collaborate with external partners to align research with SKF's strategic needs. You contribute to roadmaps and oversee the full value chain from technology needs to R&D delivery. The role combines strong scientific depth with hands-on modeling to impact bearing performance and grease life predictability. You will work in a cross-competence, international environment to shape lubrication knowledge across SKF.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Lead and support Grease Life and Friction modeling, translating experiments into models
- Contribute to lubrication research roadmaps and provide inputs
- Coordinate collaboration with external partners (universities and suppliers)
- Steer technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and manufacturers to map future SKF needs
- Build insights and skills across lubrication technologies
- Mentor and guide junior specialists (including PhDs)
- Manage and contribute to RTD activities around Lubrication; support innovation and knowledge development
Belangrijkste vereisten
- PhD in mechanical engineering or physics/chemical engineering
- 10+ years of relevant experience in bearing lubrication and modeling
- Broad and advanced knowledge of grease lubrication and modeling techniques
- Proven stakeholder management and leadership in identifying research needs
- Experience in lubricant selection, specifications, and tribology; ability to guide experimental research for modeling
- Ability to drive full value chain from customer requirements to R&D and back
- Helicopter view on lubrication competence and mentoring ability
- Enthusiastic, proactive, business-focused with advanced English communication skills
