Overview
In this Sr MSL role you will act as a scientific liaison to the medical and academic community, building trusted relationships with HCPs to disseminate clinical data ethically. You will shape the medical plan with external insights and contribute to the Medical Affairs strategy, engaging on education and research needs and delivering emerging data. You work closely with cross-functional teams to align field efforts with Vertex’s medical objectives and support access and payer considerations.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Develop and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders and HCPs to enable scientific engagement across a broad CF care provider network
- Incorporate the Scientific Engagement Model into interactions to improve quality of engagement and relationships
- Integrate the medical plan into territory planning and capture feedback in CRM to inform strategy
- Utilize CRM and analytics tools to document interactions and guide future TL engagements
- Communicate advanced scientific information on disease state and products to external stakeholders
- Understand payers and their impact on patient care delivery in the region
- Support clinical development by presenting IB content at SIV meetings and assisting with trial site nominations and end-of-study data reviews
- Represent Vertex at medical congresses with session/abstract coverage and TL interactions, including congress debriefs
- Possibly mentor and train less experienced MSLs and support new hire onboarding
- Ensure all activities comply with Vertex policies and complete administrative tasks (CRM entries, mileage, expenses, calendar)
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Advanced biomedical or life sciences degree with 5+ years as an MSL or in medical affairs in pharma/biotech
- Strong knowledge of disease areas, clinical literature appraisal, and medical information needs
- Ability to present clinical/scientific information credibly in varied settings
- In-depth understanding of regulatory and payer environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to operate in a matrix environment
- Strong compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations and ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of Health Economics and Outcomes Research
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
