Overview
As a Senior Platform Engineer at Sendcloud, you will own and evolve core infrastructure and tooling that power thousands of European e-commerce businesses. You’ll operate across Foundation Platform and Developer Platform to ensure reliable, scalable services delivered through AWS and Kubernetes. You’ll shape architecture, drive end-to-end initiatives, and respond to incidents with clear, blameless post-mortems. This role offers ownership, autonomy, and a path toward Staff Engineer scope within a fast-growing, mission-driven SaaS platform.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Independently design, build, and operate platform services and infrastructure from scoped problems to production
- Make architectural decisions for medium-complexity issues and document trade-offs with ADRs
- Apply IaC, Kubernetes, and AWS best practices for reliability, security, observability, and cost-awareness
- Lead at least one substantial roadmap item per planning cycle with minimal external input
- Proactively identify and fix issues in pipelines, runbooks, and resources without prompting
- Plan and deliver platform work within six-week cycles, breaking work into increments
- Coordinate cross-team with Platform, Product Engineering, and stakeholders
- Participate in on-call, respond to incidents, and write blameless post-mortems
- Mentor Platform Engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing (runbooks, design notes)
- Tackle engineering and operational culture by promoting a platform-as-a-product mindset
- Contribute to Peak Season readiness and organization-wide operational programs
- Participate in Engineering Hiring Interviewer Pool to assess candidates
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 5+ years engineering experience with at least 2 years in platform, infrastructure, or SRE
- Solid AWS experience (EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3) and exposure to CloudFront/WAF/Lambda
- Production Kubernetes experience and Helm, with RBAC and cluster operations know-how
- Practical IaC experience, preferably Terraform, with reusable modules
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and progressive delivery (canary, blue-green)
- Observability knowledge (metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, SLO/SLI, Datadog)
- Security-minded: IAM hygiene, secrets management, SOC2/GDPR awareness
- Strong written and verbal English with ability to explain trade-offs to diverse stakeholders
- Ownership and accountability
- Clear communication and post-mortem writing
- Ability to work in ambiguity and escalate when needed
- AWS core services: EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3; CloudFront/WAF/Lambda (nice to have)
- Kubernetes and Helm administration
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
