Overview
In this role you will own and evolve Flexport’s developer platform, enabling hundreds of engineers to ship faster and more safely. You’ll build self-serve tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and build tooling to ease engineering work, while stewarding GraphQL and gRPC ecosystems and improving IAM, observability, and container orchestration. You work cross-functionally with product teams to drive platform-wide improvements grounded in developer needs and measurable impact. This is a high-leverage opportunity to shape the engineering paved path and accelerate global trade tech.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Own and evolve the developer platform and self-serve tooling
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and build tooling; manage artifact repositories
- Enhance backend and frontend developer experience
- Steward GraphQL and gRPC ecosystems including middleware, schema sharing, CLIs, and codegen
- Develop and integrate IAM solutions for secure by default usage
- Improve container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS) and observability (Openmetrics, Datadog)
- Conduct user research with developers; track DevX metrics to ground decisions
- Collaborate across product teams to ship platform-wide changes
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack instincts across backend, frontend pipelines, Kubernetes manifests, and CI configs
- Excellent product sense for internal users and measuring impact
- Experience with at least one CI/CD system (GitHub Actions preferred)
- Experience with container orchestrators (Kubernetes preferred)
- Build tooling experience across multiple languages
- Experience with backend-for-frontend (GraphQL preferred)
- Service-to-service communication experience (gRPC preferred)
- Metrics and artifact storage experience
- Independent, proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills
