Overview
In this role you will help build advertising and marketing technology platforms that empower sellers and advertisers on eBay. You’ll work in a high-scale environment spanning frontend, backend, APIs, data pipelines, and AI-assisted workflows, partnering with product, design, analytics, and ML teams. You own end-to-end delivery and drive design decisions to deliver measurable seller and customer impact. This is a hands-on role with a focus on technical excellence and continuous learning, in a fast-moving, collaborative culture.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Build advertising and marketing tech capabilities to help sellers and advertisers grow their business and improve the customer experience
- Develop scalable applications, APIs, and services using Marko, React, Node.js, Java, and Scala
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex features from design to production support and iteration
- Drive technical decisions and system design with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to boost velocity while collaborating with ML engineers on AI-powered capabilities
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, agile delivery, technical excellence, and mentoring across engineering
Belangrijkste vereisten
- BS in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience, or MS with 8+ years of experience
- Strong experience in Java (17+) and building services with Spring Boot or similar frameworks
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases; design and query optimization; familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, or Flink is valuable
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end system design, create technical design docs, guide reviews, and evaluate tradeoffs (scalability, availability, latency, cost)
- Experience with AI-assisted development practices; exposure to GraphQL, federated APIs, LLM-powered features, agentic workflows, or open-source contributions is a plus
