Overview
In this Senior Scala Engineer role, you will help lead a high-impact modernization of a next-gen image management platform. You’ll design and implement provider-agnostic JVM libraries for uploads and URL generation, while migrating services onto a unified abstraction with zero user impact. You’ll work closely with tech leads and architects in an agile, ownership-driven environment to shape architecture and drive scalable, well-tested solutions. This is a chance to influence long-term platform decisions within a collaborative team.

- Translate product and architecture requirements into technical specs and implementation plans
- Design and implement provider-agnostic JVM libraries (Scala) for uploads and URL generation
- Migrate services onto the new abstraction layer with backward compatibility and zero user impact
- Ship robust, well-tested code aligned with industry best practices and architecture patterns
- Contribute to architecture reviews, code reviews, and long-term media platform decisions
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 6+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems
- Strong JVM background, Scala highly preferred
- Solid grasp of microservices and event-driven design and inter-service communication
- Comfortable running services in AWS or GCP with production SLAs
