Overview
As Senior Expert Engineer in ING’s Omnichannel, you shape the technical direction and enable a scalable, cross-country banking platform. You’ll guide OneApp, OneWeb, Assisted Channels and Conversational Banking, ensuring secure, reliable solutions that can be adopted globally. You’ll work with product leads and leaders to raise engineering excellence and drive AI-enabled capabilities. This role offers influence across countries and a chance to impact customer journeys at scale.

- Define and drive the technical vision for OneApp, OneWeb, Assisted Channels and Conversational Banking
- Influence technology decisions across omnichannel teams and multiple countries
- Ensure security, reliability and scalability of solutions
- Help teams solve complex engineering challenges and remove barriers to scale
- Advance engineering excellence and accelerate AI adoption and AI/agentic solutions
- Ensure solutions are designed for global reuse and multi-country adoption
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to the Omnichannel CIO and leadership team

- 10+ years of engineering experience in large-scale, customer-facing and mobile environments
- Proven ability to solve cross-domain technical challenges with broad impact
- Strong communication skills to influence engineers, architects and senior stakeholders
- Strong foundation in modern architecture, security, reliability, testing and engineering best practices (DDD, TDD, XP)
- Experience across front-end, back-end, mobile, AI and platform engineering
- Experience mentoring engineers and building engineering capability across teams
- Experience defining enterprise or domain technology visions
