Overview
Senior Data Engineer at Adyen shapes scalable data infrastructure and ensures seamless data flow across systems. You will build and operate production ELT pipelines on our Big Data Platform, collaborating with data scientists, engineers and product teams. The role emphasizes data quality, governance, and performance to enable insights that drive business decisions. You’ll help champion data best practices and mentor others, working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment in Amsterdam.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Collaborative solution development with data scientists, analysts, engineers, product managers and customers to translate requirements into effective data solutions
- Design, development, deployment and operation of production ELT pipelines and data architectures; integrate data from multiple sources
- Champion data best practices across Adyen, including data governance, validation, testing and discoverability, through mentoring and training
- Ensure high-quality data and code with rigorous testing and validation (e.g., Pytest) and robust monitoring
- Performance optimization of pipelines and queries to meet SLAs using Spark optimizations, caching, indexing and partitioning
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Expert-level understanding of software and data engineering practices
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Airflow, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, SQL, Git
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Self-starter with ability to own and drive projects independently
