Overview
As Senior Backend Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable data platform solutions within the Immutably Platform, reporting to the CTO. You’ll guide architectural decisions, drive big data initiatives, and mentor teammates across time zones. You’ll work with cross-functional squads to translate business needs into robust data systems and APIs. This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic leadership to advance Context Labs’ mission of turning complex data into trusted information.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Act as a technical authority providing engineering leadership and architectural guidance
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data systems and services for the Immutably Platform
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, estimates, and development tasks with Product and Engineering
- Lead technical projects using Java, Scala, and Python
- Establish engineering best practices through code quality, architecture, documentation, and reviews
- Collaborate in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software
- Coach and mentor engineers to overcome technical challenges
- Coordinate engineering efforts across distributed teams and multiple time zones
- Perform other duties as reasonably required by the company
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 10+ years of experience building large-scale or big data systems
- Expertise with Spark, Flink, and Arrow for large-scale query processing
- Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Dolphin, Dagster, and Airflow
- Strong programming experience with JVM languages and Python; Java with Spring
- API development and integration proficiency (RESTful, GraphQL, gRPC)
- Experience with data lakes/data fabrics and platforms like Databricks
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with testing and source code management
