Overview
In this role, you monitor security alerts and events from diverse sources, identify and triage incidents, and support timely containment. You will work as part of the Security Operations Centre in Amsterdam, collaborating with cross-functional teams to reduce false positives and strengthen overall security posture. You’ll document investigation steps and contribute to reporting, awareness, and best practices. - Monitor alerts and events from multiple security sources, including SIEM tools
- Identify, categorize and prioritize correlated security alerts
- Analyse logs and network traffic to detect potential security issues
- Create and manage cases for confirmed incidents
- Recommend initial response activities and escalate complex incidents
- Maintain accurate investigation notes throughout the incident lifecycle
- Review recurring tickets and identify opportunities to reduce false positives
- Stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities
- Contribute to security reporting, documentation, awareness and best practices
Belangrijkste vereisten
- University Degree or Master in a related field
- Knowledge of networking and cybersecurity fundamentals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft 365
- Advantageous: experience with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Jira, network operations, service or help desk environments
- Advantageous: certification such as CompTIA Security+ or SC-200
