Overview
You will build and lead GO trading activity within a growing environmental commodities business. You’ll shape the trading strategy, risk framework, and market approach, combining proprietary and flow trading to scale across GO technologies, countries, and vintages. The role involves developing market-making relationships and expanding into biomethane and carbon markets, with strong autonomy and impact on the desk’s growth. You work closely with risk, finance and operations to ensure robust execution, settlement and P&L. This is a ground-up build with influence over strategy and expansion.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Build and implement the GO trading strategy and risk framework
- Trade GOs on a proprietary basis across technologies, countries and vintages
- Develop flow trading and market-making activity with clients and counterparties
- Identify cross-border, cross-technology and relative-value opportunities
- Build and maintain pricing, valuation, risk and P&L models and trading tools
- Monitor European renewable energy markets, regulation and supply/demand drivers
- Develop relationships with brokers, counterparties and market participants
- Work with risk, finance and operations to ensure robust trade execution and settlement
- Lead expansion into biomethane, carbon and other environmental commodities
- Support the growth of the trading team over time
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 5+ years' proprietary or flow trading experience in commodities, energy, environmental markets or related asset classes
- Proven track record of generating trading P&L within defined risk parameters
- Experience building or restructuring a trading desk, strategy, or risk framework
- Strong quantitative/analytical capability with hands-on model building experience, preferably Python, Excel/VBA
- GO or environmental commodities experience is advantageous but not essential
- Existing broker/counterparty network is a plus
- Fluent English; Dutch advantageous
