Overview
As a Network Engineer in Booking.com’s Data Center Network team, you’ll help keep our global data center networks reliable and scalable. You’ll contribute to automation, monitoring, and zero-touch provisioning to reduce manual toil and speed deployments. You’ll collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams worldwide to support private cloud and virtualization, ensuring high availability for internal workloads. This role offers the chance to shape a growing, globally distributed network with a strong automation focus.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Ensure reliability, stability, and availability of Booking.com’s global data center network
- Operate, maintain, and improve large-scale network infrastructure across multiple data centers
- Automate provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring via robust scripting/tools (preferably Python and Unix/Linux)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and troubleshoot networking for private cloud and virtualization
- Own and evolve zero-touch provisioning and automated configuration workflows
- Monitor and optimize network performance, proactively address issues and minimize downtime
- Work with multi-vendor environments, coordinate incident management and resolution
- Engage with vendors/partners for network support and escalations when needed
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Deep expertise in routing & switching, TCP/IP, BGP, EVPN, VXLAN
- Strong experience building and maintaining network automation stacks (preferably Python) in Unix/Linux
- Hands-on experience with zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) and automated configuration management
- Proven ability to monitor, optimize, and ensure high network quality and availability
- Extensive experience building and operating large-scale data center networks
- Solid background in private cloud networking and network virtualization
- Demonstrated incident management and vendor coordination experience
- Nice-to-Have: experience with firewalls and multi-vendor networks
