Overview
As Lead Principal Solution Architect at Backbase, you steer technical direction on the bank-focused engagements, ensuring ambitious designs ship. You combine hands-on architecture with executive-level conversations, bridging client needs and delivery realities. You shape target architectures, transition plans, and explain trade-offs to stakeholders. You influence pre-sales and delivery through reusable patterns and reference designs, while mentoring peers and representing Backbase in senior forums. Travel is a regular part of the role, aligning architecture with large-scale programs.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Lead architecture on the region's largest, most complex programs
- Translate business goals into robust architectures covering integration, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Define target state, transition path, and trade-offs for customers
- Engage across the full deal and delivery cycle, including pre-sales architecture storytelling
- Contribute to scaled delivery via reference designs, patterns, and worked examples
- Raise architectural quality through design reviews and reference architectures
- Represent Backbase architecture in customer, analyst, and partner discussions
- Produce field learnings fed back to Product and Engineering
- Act as escalation point for implementation teams
- Travel during inception and major milestones
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 10+ years designing large Java platforms in production
- Proficiency with Spring, Maven, and modern CI/CD toolchains
- Strong opinions on Service Oriented and Micro-Services Architectures
- Experience with front-end delivery: JavaScript frameworks, MVC, REST API design (RAML/OpenAPI)
- Intuition with architectural frameworks
- Deep experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns and integration frameworks
- Operational depth across app servers, databases, load balancers, and high-availability deployments
- Excellent written and spoken English, ability to present to senior engineers and C-level
- Strong communication and presentation skills across audiences
- Ability to lead without direct line management
- Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
