Overview
In this role you will shape Adyen’s Java core by building and evolving shared frameworks used across all Java teams. You will contribute to large-scale migrations that define future architecture, and guide other engineers on how to apply our libraries to business challenges. You’ll collaborate with platform and security teams to ensure cohesive integrations while driving best practices. This is a hands-on, architecture-influencing position in a lean, high-impact team.
Verantwoordelijkheden
- Design, build, and evolve internal and open source Java frameworks and components used by every Java application team at Adyen
- Contribute to one or more of the three large-scale migrations reshaping Adyen's application architecture
- Provide hands-on technical guidance to other engineering teams on how our frameworks solve business problems
- Design and evolve workflows used by engineering teams across Adyen, identify pain points and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with partner platform teams (Kubernetes infrastructure, deployment, security) to ensure smooth integration across the tech stack
- Advocate for best practices, define usage boundaries, create code validation rules, run workshops, and present to development teams
Belangrijkste vereisten
- 5+ years of experience with Java backend development
- Strong skills in core Java and API design
- Track record of building high-quality software with testing at all levels
- Communicative, proactive team player who takes ownership and can act as a technical influencer
- Comfortable driving alignment with stakeholders and pushing initiatives for customers
- Communicative and proactive collaboration

- Kubernetes/cloud migrations and legacy modernization (nice-to-have)
- Experience developing and maintaining libraries/frameworks used by many developers
