JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading specialist contractor as they look to expand their team with a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Amsterdam, working as part of a growing team delivering major data centre construction projects across Europe. You’ll be joining at an exciting stage of expansion, with real opportunity to shape mechanical delivery on a significant programme of work. Responsibilities: Lead a team of Package Managers and oversee technical project delivery across mechanical systems Manage client communications and represent the team in client meetings Oversee the technical submittal and RFI process for mechanical works Develop and review commissioning scripts for mechanical assets and systems Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical and CSA contractors to ensure fully integrated service delivery Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities Sequence and manage installation of pipework to meet programme dates Manage works through to final commissioning and handover Assist with scope changes, monthly valuations and final account preparation Drive O&M completion and documentation gathering from vendors Requirements: 8+ years in mechanical engineering on data centre or mission-critical construction projects Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling systems, chiller plants and liquid cooling technologies Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams on site Familiarity with engineering deliverables across all construction stages, from pre-construction through to commissioning BMS integration or commissioning experience and a chartered engineering qualification are a plus Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven construction environment Strong communication skills and ability to engage confidently with clients and senior stakeholders
