You will join the organisation’s Architecture Centre of Excellence, supporting the teams responsible for core technology platforms and global IT resilience. Their scope covers IT Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, and Backup & Restore across APAC, EMEA, the US and LATAM. The initial 12 month assignment focuses on the project’s initiation phase. You will establish business and technical requirements, develop the high-level concept design, and assess solution options against security, resilience, operational and regulatory needs. Working with Engineering, Information Security, Operations, Risk Management and IT Leadership, you will bring stakeholders together around a clear and approved architectural direction. What you will do
Lead the concept architecture:

Define and document functional and non-functional requirements covering resilience, security, recoverability and operational efficiency. Evaluate architectural options:
Present solution alternatives, trade-offs, assumptions and recommendations to support strategic decisions. Shape cyber recovery capabilities:
Address immutable backups, cyber recovery vaults, air-gapped environments, ransomware recovery, clean room architectures and cross-region recovery. Support feasibility and investment decisions:
Contribute to site surveys, datacenter feasibility assessments and the project business case, including architectural cost drivers. Guide stakeholder alignment:
Work across architecture, platform, engineering, security and risk teams to validate designs and resolve dependencies. Contribute to long-term strategy:
Help develop the enterprise cyber recovery strategy and target-state architecture. What you will deliver
Your key deliverables during the initiation phase will include: A High-Level Concept Design for the EU Cyber Recovery Datacenter. A Business & Technical Requirements Matrix covering functional and non-functional requirements. Documented architectural options, principles, recommendations and decisions. Architectural input for the business case, including assumptions and cost drivers. Contributions to feasibility assessments and the enterprise cyber recovery strategy. What you bring
You combine substantial infrastructure architecture experience with the ability to turn complex requirements into clear designs and decisions. A bachelor’s or master’s degree. At least 7–10 years of experience in technical architecture roles, with direct involvement in large-scale enterprise IT solutions. Experience working within regulated banking or financial services environments. Strong experience designing enterprise datacenter and hybrid recovery environments, including backup, storage, replication and failover. Deep knowledge of cyber resilience and recovery architectures, including immutable storage, isolated recovery environments and ransomware recovery. An understanding of datacenter transformation and/or construction projects. Knowledge of relevant frameworks and standards, including ISO 22237, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, NIST, NIS2 and DORA. The ability to explain architectural trade-offs, challenge assumptions and build agreement across technical and business stakeholders. CDCDP certification is highly desirable.
Other relevant certifications include TOGAF or an equivalent architecture qualification, AWS/Azure Architect, VMware VCP-VCF, CCIE and CISSP. Why this assignment?
This is an opportunity to influence a major infrastructure initiative from its earliest stage. You will help determine what the new cyber recovery environment must achieve, assess how it can be delivered, and provide the architectural foundation for investment and implementation decisions.
