We're working with a brilliant international tech consultancy built around a network of genuinely talented, highly experienced software consultants who specialise in agile software delivery. Their whole model is about taking the risk out of delivery by only trusting the very best people, forming cross functional teams and working alongside their customers every step of the way.
This role sits in their Dutch business. It's a team of 12 with an associate network of 70 to 80 consultants behind it, and it genuinely feels like a startup with a rich parent. You get the pace, autonomy and chance to shape things that come with a small team, plus the reputation, backing and depth of experience of a well established global consultancy.
They're working with some of the biggest names in Dutch banking and telecoms, and they're now hiring an Engagement Manager to lead delivery across those accounts. You'll be the delivery focused counterpart to their growth focused Engagement Manager, working as peers to make sure every engagement is shaped well, delivered brilliantly and turns into a lasting partnership.
The Role You'll be involved from the very first conversation through to delivery. Part delivery leader, part trusted advisor and part relationship builder, you'll help shape engagements in pre sales, build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and then own delivery once the work is live. Specifically, you'll be:
Getting involved in pre sales alongside your growth focused peer, helping shape engagements so they're set up to succeed from day one
Working with customers to develop and implement their digital and technology strategy so it lines up with their wider business goals
Knowing when to draw on the deep knowledge across the wider consultancy, including their AI Lab, an active R&D and experimentation function you'll work closely with
Owning delivery across your engagements and making sure it's consistent, cohesive and true to the values the business is built on
Monitoring progress with the customer and the delivery team to spot dependencies and roadblocks early and propose solutions
Talking credibly not just about the work in play, but about future challenges and opportunities, so the relationship keeps growing
Owning profitability and performance against agreed financial targets
Building customer relationships
Building trust with key stakeholders early, so the team is empowered to do what's genuinely best for the customer
Navigating large, complex banking and telco organisations where interests and priorities compete
Running regular account reviews with customers and wider stakeholders
Seeking out references and case studies to support marketing and business development
Leading and supporting the team
Partnering with the people team to manage staffing across your engagements
Getting involved in recruiting new consultants into a growing Dutch network
Leading regular, informal updates with your consultant teams
Dealing quickly and collaboratively with any people matters that could affect an engagement
Learning and sharing
Working with fellow Engagement Managers across the wider business to share experiences and sharpen how they engage with customers
Sharing both successes and challenges with the wider business
Encouraging consultants to present their work across the organisation
What You'll Bring This is a senior role for someone who has grown up in delivery and moved into account or commercial leadership. You'll ideally have:
Fluent Dutch and English, as several customers in the pipeline work in Dutch
A strong technical delivery background, with experience leading complex programmes across multiple stakeholders
Experience stepping into account, client or commercial leadership, with real financial awareness
Consultancy experience, though it isn't essential. If you've led delivery inside a large enterprise such as a major bank or telco, they'd love to hear from you too
A gift for building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders in large, complex organisations
Leadership that inspires and motivates, and the communication skills to work closely with multidisciplinary digital teams
Strong analytical skills, using data to communicate outcomes and make informed decisions
Genuine curiosity about emerging technology, particularly AI
The ability to travel within the Randstad (Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and The Hague) for client work
Why This One Stands Out You'll be joining a small, ambitious Dutch team at a point where you can genuinely shape how it grows, with the backing of a global network of some of the most experienced delivery people in the industry. The model is built on trust, so once you've earned it with your customers you'll have the freedom to do things the right way rather than the easy way. Add in close links to an active AI Lab and a pipeline of household name banking and telco clients, and there's a lot to get your teeth into.
The Details This is a full time permanent role paying up to €150,000, and profit share on top. There's no fixed office. The team uses co-working space in Amsterdam and gets together monthly, and you'll travel to client sites across the Randstad as needed. They're aiming for a start in January 2027, but they're flexible and understand Dutch notice periods.
