Role Description
The Btw-adviseur / VAT Specialist – Compliance is a full-time or part-time, on-site role based in Amstelveen. In this position, the specialist oversees VAT compliance for a portfolio of clients, including preparing, reviewing, and filing VAT returns and other related documentation. The role involves analyzing transactions for VAT implications, monitoring changes in VAT regulations, and advising clients and colleagues on compliance requirements. Daily tasks include collaborating with the VAT colleagues, responding to Tax authority inquiries, and ensuring accurate records and reporting. The specialist will also contribute to internal process improvements and support the development of best practices in VAT compliance.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance, with experience applying VAT rules in practice.
Excellent Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and transactional data.
Solid understanding of Finance, including VAT reporting, accounting entries, and transaction flows.
Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, to advise clients and collaborate with colleagues.
Relevant degree in Taxation, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional experience in VAT or indirect tax compliance, preferably in an advisory or accounting environment.
Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and a structured approach to managing multiple deadlines.
Proficiency with tax compliance and accounting software; advanced Excel skills are an advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a professional office setting.
Fluency in Dutch and good command of English are highly beneficial.
