Overview
In this role you lead end-to-end development, validation and performance of the telecom payload and ground segment for the Novacom I / One Sat project.
You will coordinate with the industrial prime contractor, satellite operators and ESA teams to ensure mission objectives, technical budgets and schedules are met.
You will drive design, verification and in-orbit validation while maintaining consistency with requirements and industry standards.
This opportunity combines hands-on technical leadership with cross-organization collaboration to advance strategic satellite capabilities.
- Verantwoordelijkheden
- Lead end-to-end payload and ground-segment design, development, qualification, on-ground verification and in-orbit validation
- Define and maintain payload and end-to-end system requirements, interfaces, budgets and operational concepts with traceability
- Act as technical point of contact with prime contractor, satellite operator and partners; make decisions within Project Manager's authority
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and foster cooperation with project teams, industry and space agencies
- Lead payload and related reviews (payload, lower-level, ground-segment, end-to-end) and co-chair reviews with operator and prime contractor
- Manage industrial activities, support contracts, assess changes, deviations and non-conformances, ensure ECSS and standards compliance
- Monitor progress, schedules, costs, risks; define mitigation measures to stay within constraints
- Monitor end-to-end system performance and pursue optimization opportunities
- Provide regular technical, programmatic and financial reporting to Project Manager and ESA management
- Support interactions with delegations, partners, stakeholders and outreach activities
- Contribute to future mission concepts and commercial opportunities in the department
- Support knowledge-sharing and transfer across the Agency as needed
- Belangrijkste vereisten
- Master in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor with an additional 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience in telecom satellite payload design, development, verification and in-orbit validation (including digital payload architectures)
- Experience with end-to-end Sat Com mission development
- Knowledge of ESA and industrial space development, verification and quality assurance processes
- Knowledge of ESA partnership projects, governance and procurement processes
- Direct experience with prime contractor and/or operator in commercial telecommunications is advantageous
