Overview
In this role you drive the Galileo system roadmap and service provision, aligning system builds with programme and service roadmaps.
You lead cross-organisational collaboration with ESA, EU agencies, and industry to capture requirements and validate GNSS service provisions.
You will shape user use cases, oversee compliance, and coordinate with multiple segments to deliver robust, compliant Galileo services.
This is a high-impact, international position at ESA with a focus on moving complex space system developments forward.
- Verantwoordelijkheden
- Define Galileo system roadmap and capabilities for each system build; maintain compliance with service provision requirements across the lifecycle
- Represent ESA as design/qualification authority to EU/Member States and coordinates with stakeholders
- Identify and describe new user segment use cases and validate system specifications from a service perspective
- Manage weekly design engagements with Commission/EUSPA/Member States on system builds and compliance commitments
- Contribute to system requirements, architecture and operations concepts aligned with service provisions
- Contribute to System Assembly, Integration and Verification plans focusing on user performance verification
- Investigate and close ARs and NCRs related to the area of expertise across the lifecycle
- Lead studies, tools and testbeds to demonstrate and validate user performance for new use cases
- Coordinate with Space/ Ground Segment, System Security, PA and Safety teams, Project Office and industry to implement the roadmap
- Ensure ESA’s role as Galileo design authority and prime contractor is maintained
- Represent ESA to EU/Member States/ international bodies in reviews and working groups
- Ensure technical synergy with other EU/ESA PNT programmes
- Identify lessons learned and support knowledge management initiatives in the Directorate
- Belangrijkste vereisten
- Master’s degree in telecommunications engineering or related discipline with four years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant experience
- Experience in design, development and validation for large space projects
- Experience in product roadmapping and coordinating work of technical experts
- Experience in management of industry contracts for technology and product development
- Work experience in project management-related disciplines is an asset
