For a young, fast-growing deep-tech startup in Eindhoven, I'm looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer. The company builds inspection and metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry and is in the middle of its build-up phase. What will you do?
You'll design the hardware that carries the measurements: from machine housings and frames to the wafer stage and the system's support structures. Design from concept to production drawing, including material and surface finish selection Work directly with CNC shops and suppliers on quotes, tolerances and changes Run FEM, thermal and dynamic analyses where they matter, and keep things simple where possible Assemble and test your own designs in the lab, and apply what you learn to the next version Collaborate closely with mechatronics, optics and systems engineers Who are you?
3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design of high-tech equipment (semicon, metrology or scientific instruments) Your designs have gone from CAD to working hardware Strong in 3D CAD (Creo preferred, SolidWorks or NX also fine) Solid knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing and DfMA You know what a CNC shop can and can't do You're as happy at the lab bench as behind your CAD screen Professional level of English Nice to have:
cleanroom or vacuum design, vibration isolation and thermal management, SEMI standards and CE marking, opto-mechanical design, a supplier network in Brainport. Not a perfect match? No problem.
