Responsibilities

Assemble quantum chips into their packaging, working from technical drawings and work instructions to place and mount the chip in its housing and mount the chip in its housing with the PCB.

Make the electrical connections, wirebonding (manual and automatic) will be a significant part of the daily activities, as well as manual soldering.

Measure and test your work, performing the defined electrical and mechanical checks and recording the results, so issues are caught before a device moves on.

Finish and close the package, including sealing, inspection, laser engraving and preparing for transportation to the measurement location.

Load our cryogenic fridges with new chips to be measured, mounting packaged samples and QPUs, making the wiring, thermal and mechanical connections, and closing up the system with magnetic shields.

Safeguard quality, handling fragile, high-value parts with care and following handling and ESD procedures, because a single scratch, particle or ESD event can ruin a chip.

Flag deviations early, stopping and raising it with the Assembly Tech Lead when something does not match the instruction or does not look right, rather than improvising a fix.

Help improve how we work, giving practical feedback on work instructions, fixtures and tools while our processes are still maturing.

Keep a safe, clean and organised workplace, applying 5S and HSE rules every day and making sure your bench, tooling and consumables are ready.

Requirements

4+ years of hands-on experience assembling mechanical, electrical or mechatronic systems; relevant internships count.

Able to read work instructions with photos and technical drawings, and comfortable with basic digital tools and production systems.

Good with your hands at two scales: precision in assembly, handling of fine devices and connectors, and mechanical assembly such as bolting, cabling and fitting larger parts together.

Precise and patient, with a genuine liking for detailed hands-on work done well, every time, and a practical approach to solving problems.

Comfortable with structured, repeatable work, and disciplined about following instructions step by step and recording what you did.
