Communicate clearly with business stakeholders, IT colleagues, and management - translating platform complexity into plain language

Support the development of the broader functional management organisation as the team continues to grow

Eneco's asset-intensive operations depend on SAP systems that need to run reliably, every day. As SAP ALM Consultant you are the senior functional specialist keeping those systems stable, coordinating releases with precision, and making sure the platform continuously improves alongside the business.

This is not a passive support role. You are a senior anchor in a cross-functional team - diagnosing complex incidents, coordinating software releases end to end, and advising stakeholders on everything from functional design to long-term improvement roadmaps. You connect the dots between business operations, IT delivery, and external vendors.

You are a senior SAP specialist who takes ownership naturally. You know the functional landscape well enough to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and find the structural fix rather than the quick patch. You are just as comfortable briefing a business stakeholder as you are digging into a release log with a developer. You are calm under pressure, precise in your communication, and driven by continuous improvement - not just keeping the lights on.

You Bring Experience

5+ years of functional support experience within SAP environments

Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA EAM, PS, DMS, SAP Service and Asset Manager, and/or SAP Field Service Management

Experience coordinating software releases and executing functional testing

Background in incident management, root cause analysis, and working with external suppliers

Experience in an asset-intensive sector (energy, utilities, infrastructure, or manufacturing) is a plus

Knowledge and Expertise

Strong understanding of SAP functional modules within an asset management and field operations context

Familiarity with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes and tooling

Understanding of release management, change management, and quality assurance principles

Knowledge of relevant compliance and authorisation frameworks

Awareness of integration patterns between SAP and adjacent systems

Skills and Competencies

Analytical and structured - you spot patterns, prioritise well, and bring clarity to complexity

Strong communicator in both English and Dutch - able to adapt your message to developers, business stakeholders, and management alike

Ownership mindset - you act without waiting to be asked

Collaborative - you build bridges between teams, roles, and perspectives

Continuous improvement focus - you are always looking for the smarter, more sustainable solution

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Informatics, or a related discipline - or equivalent demonstrated experience

You will join a cross-functional product and operations team at E9 level, working on SAP systems that are central to Eneco's day-to-day operations. You collaborate closely with functional colleagues, IT engineers, business stakeholders, and external vendors.

The team is part of Eneco's broader IT landscape, which is actively evolving - which means there is always something to improve, optimise, or build on.

You will work hybrid - partly from Eneco's Rotterdam headquarters and partly from home, in a setup designed for both focus and flexibility.

SAP depth across a complex landscape

You work across a broad range of SAP modules - EAM, PS, DMS, Service and Asset Manager, Field Service Management - giving you deep functional breadth in a single environment, without needing to switch employers to grow.

Senior ownership in a growing team

This is not a support ticket role. You shape how functional management works, influence how the platform evolves, and play a visible role in building a stronger team around you.

Infrastructure that matters

Eneco's systems support the energy transition at scale. When the SAP landscape runs well, field engineers, asset managers, and operations teams can do their work - and that work contributes directly to a more sustainable energy system.
