Our client runs one of Europe’s largest company bike leasing businesses. Employers offer their people a lease bike, most of them electric, as part of their benefits package, and the client handles the leasing, the dealer network and the service. More than 600,000 employees at around 65,000 companies ride through the programme, supported by 8,000 partner dealers. The business is part of a Dutch family-owned mobility group, and one of Europe’s largest automotive financial services groups holds a significant minority stake. It operates across the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and Switzerland, and is growing across Europe and the USA. The role
The company is bringing its regional platforms together onto one international platform that will serve every brand and market, including markets it hasn’t entered yet. Budget is approved and the engineering teams are being built now. This is the first product designer embedded in the international product team, reporting to the leader of that team. You’ll work in a small cross-functional team of product managers, engineers and business leads. Together you’ll take each part of the platform from how it works in each country today to one simpler standard, with country teams feeding in along the way. What you design becomes the standard that future teams build on. This suits a senior designer who thinks in systems and still does the work themselves. If your strength is visual polish, or you’d rather lead a design team than design, this isn’t the role. The next year will be fast and demanding, and there’s no existing design function or playbook to inherit yet. What you’ll be doing
Redesign complex leasing, employer and dealer processes into simpler flows. If something takes five steps today, you propose how it works in three. Set the product design standard for the shared platform and apply it across brands and markets. Work side by side with engineers and product managers to propose solutions, gather feedback from country teams and get each part of the platform live. Bring senior product and business stakeholders together around clear design decisions. Lay the foundations for a design function that will grow as the platform scales. What you’ll need
Senior product design experience on complex products (B2B, platform, operational or multi-market), with case studies showing processes you simplified, not just screens you restyled Strong systems thinking: you can see a product end to end and design its structure, flows and information architecture Hands-on, and still doing the design work yourself Confidence with senior leadership and a track record of influencing product direction in a large, multi-brand organisation An analytical, evidence-led approach, backing proposals with data and research Comfort with ambiguity, legacy systems and organisational change Nice to have: setting a design standard or design system that other teams adopted, a platform consolidation or replatforming, fintech, leasing, insurance or employee benefits products, or early-stage or founder experience Location & logistics
Amsterdam is preferred, as it’s where the product team and business leads come together, with regular in-person collaboration. Strong candidates based in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Austria, France or Sweden will also be considered, with regular travel to Amsterdam.
