Do you know how to motivate a team, keep an overview when things get busy, and enjoy being at the heart of operations? As a Shiftleader Operations at Chane Terminals Pernis (CTPE), you will lead your shift team and work together to ensure safe, efficient, and well-organized terminal operations. You set clear expectations, establish priorities, and help your team achieve the best possible results during every shift.

Where will you be working? CTPE specializes in the storage and handling of liquid bulk products. Safety and operational reliability are at the core of everything we do.

As a Shiftleader Operations, you will manage a team of operators. You are visible on the work floor and understand what is happening in the operation. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Manager, and colleagues from other departments to ensure that activities run smoothly and that everyone understands what is expected of them.

You will gain a thorough understanding of the terminal and its operational processes, enabling you to eventually perform the various responsibilities independently. To support this, you will complete the required local training modules.

In addition, you are a strong team player and connector within the leadership team. You know how to take a professional stand, balancing operational priorities with people management. You guide your team through change, support improvements, and actively contribute to the continued development of the operation. In short, you combine a focus on results with genuine attention to your people:

Mission & People Focus.

What Will You Do at Chane? You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your shift team. You allocate work, monitor progress, and make adjustments whenever necessary.

Your responsibilities include:

Leading your team:

motivating and coaching employees, supporting their development, and addressing performance when required.

Organizing the operation:

allocating work and ensuring that loading, unloading, and storage activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

Ensuring safety:

making sure procedures are followed and intervening in the event of unsafe situations, disruptions, or emergencies. As part of the company emergency response plan (BNP), you are also responsible for ensuring the appropriate follow-up actions are taken.

Driving improvements:

identifying opportunities to work smarter and more efficiently while helping your team embrace change.

Coordinating with stakeholders:

working closely with Operations Management and other departments and ensuring effective shift handovers.

You will have the autonomy to make decisions independently. You know when to intervene, when to support colleagues, and when to involve other departments.

What Knowledge and Experience Do You Bring? You are a practical and engaged leader who communicates clearly and knows how to bring people along. You are confident in making decisions, remain calm under pressure, and understand what it takes to keep operations running smoothly.

In addition, you bring:

MBO-4 or Bachelor-level working and thinking capabilities.

A completed VAPRO C diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Extensive experience leading and supervising operational teams.

Preferably experience within a terminal environment or a comparable industrial setting.

A strong safety mindset and the ability to promote safety awareness within your team.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

A practical mindset, organizational awareness, and the ability to adapt quickly.

A positive, disciplined, and professional work ethic.

Willingness to work in a continuous shift schedule and thrive in an environment where operations run 24/7.

What Does Chane Offer? At Chane, you will have a responsible position with a direct impact on daily operations and the development of your team.

In addition, we offer:

A leadership role within an international and growing organization.

An attractive package of primary and secondary employment benefits.

A gross monthly salary between €4,834.33 and €8,387.00 in accordance with the Chane Collective Labour Agreement (Scale I). Final placement within the scale depends on your knowledge and experience.

Opportunities for further professional development through training and educational programs, including the Chane Academy.

A close-knit and committed team where collaboration and safe working practices are central, and where you play an active role in maintaining both.

An assessment will be part of the recruitment process.
