Founding Software Engineer / Future CTO — InSync As a Founding Software Engineer, you will help shape and develop the technology behind InSync.
About us Caemso Nexus is an early-stage technology venture based at Brightlands Smart Services Campus in Heerlen, the Netherlands.
We are developing InSync — a new way for people to discover meaningful connections in the real world.

Unlike traditional dating and social discovery apps, InSync combines real-time proximity detection with a Matching Engine that calculates compatibility between nearby people before they initiate contact, based on their interests, intentions and preferences.

Users will be able to explore who's around, what they're open to — dating, friendship, networking or shared interests — and where meaningful connections exist.
InSyncvisualizes nearby people as interactive dots, with distinctive signals highlighting potential matches, shared interests and complementary needs.
The goal is simple: turn physical proximity into opportunities for genuine human connection.
Your phone becomes a bridge to real-world interaction, not another destination for endless scrolling.
We have a working iPhone prototype and are entering real-world pilot testing.
We are looking for an experienced Founding Software Engineer / Future CTO who wants to help shape and build the next generation of InSync. Working directly with the founder, you will take technical ownership of the product and help transform our existing prototype into an intuitive, reliable and scalable mobile platform.
Your key responsibilities:
Develop InSync 2.0, combining live proximity discovery, visual matching signals and nearby profiles.
Integrate and advance our existing Matching Engine, translating calculated compatibility into meaningful user experiences.
Develop reliable Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) proximity detection and peer-to-peer communication.
Shape the architecture for iOS, Android and supporting backend services.
Improve application performance, reliability, security and user experience.
Establish professional engineering practices, automated testing and maintainable development workflows.
Translate real-world pilot feedback into technical improvements and product development priorities.
Help define the technical roadmap and contribute to strategic decisions about the company's future.
The existing prototype and technical research provide a strong starting point, but the future architecture is open to your expertise and ideas. This is a hands‐on engineering role with substantial influence over both technology and product direction, and the potential to develop into a CTO or technical co‐founder position.
Job profile We are looking for an experienced, hands‐on software engineer with strong architectural judgement, a product-oriented mindset and an entrepreneurial attitude.
Ideally, you bring:
Solid professional experience in software development and software architecture.
Mobile application development experience, preferably with Swift, SwiftUI and/or Kotlin.
Knowledge of Bluetooth, real-time connectivity, asynchronous programming or distributed systems.
Experience with APIs, backend infrastructure and modern software development practices.
Familiarity with Git, automated testing, CI/CD and maintainable codebases.
A sound understanding of application security, performance and data protection.
The ability to evaluate technical alternatives and make pragmatic architectural decisions.
An interest in creating intuitive, engaging mobile experiences.
Equally important is your mindset.
You enjoy building products from an early stage, taking responsibility and turning complex technical challenges into working solutions.
You are independent, curious, willing to challenge assumptions and comfortable working in an environment where priorities evolve.
Good communication skills in English are important.
Previous CTO experience is not required, nor do we expect expertise in every technology listed. Strong engineering fundamentals, technical ownership and entrepreneurial motivation matter most.
We are particularly interested in experienced professionals who would enjoy contributing to a promising startup alongside their existing career.
Availability : Approximately 8 hours per week initially, with the consistency needed to take responsibility for agreed milestones.

Compensation and participation
Caemso Nexus / InSync is currently in the pre‐seed stage. We are pursuing external funding while continuing technical development, pilot testing and market validation. At present, there is no guaranteed salary budget. We are therefore seeking someone interested in an equity-oriented entrepreneurial collaboration.

The exact arrangements will be discussed individually and documented in advance, including responsibilities, time commitment, intellectual property, potential equity and vesting. Paid compensation may become possible when sufficient financing is secured, but cannot currently be guaranteed . A future CTO or co‐founder appointment depends on mutual fit, demonstrated contribution and company development.
