Rather than specializing within a single technology domain, you will provide cross-domain architectural leadership, helping ensure our infrastructure platforms evolve as an integrated, scalable, secure, resilient, and sustainable technology foundation.Working collaboratively with infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, reliability, Information Security, application teams, service management, regional technology teams, and other technology partners, you will help facilitate infrastructure architecture governance, enable cross-functional architectural decision-making, and contribute to a cohesive infrastructure strategy that supports Applied Medical's global business objectives.This is a senior individual contributor role without direct reports, offering significant influence across the organization and the opportunity to help shape the future direction of infrastructure architecture within Applied Technology Services.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and lead infrastructure architecture review boards to drive alignment and governance across technology domainsDevelop and maintain a cohesive infrastructure architecture strategy — spanning cloud and on-premise — that aligns networking, database, security, identity, compute, and storage platforms with business objectivesPartner with domain architects and technology leaders to design integrated, scalable, secure, and resilient IT landscapesDefine architectural standards, principles, and reference designs that promote consistency, modernization, and operational excellence across the organizationProvide strategic architectural guidance for major technology initiatives, investments, and infrastructure transformation programsIdentify opportunities for standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement while influencing stakeholders and driving enterprise-wide adoption of architectural best practicesWhat you bring10+ years of progressive experience within Information Technology, including experience in infrastructure architecture or technical leadership roles5+ years of experience defining architecture strategies, technical standards, and cross-functional infrastructure roadmapsStrong expertise across on-premise and cloud platforms, data center infrastructure, networking, compute, virtualization, storage, backup, identity, security, automation, and observabilityDeep understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience principlesExperience working in complex international environments and collaborating with global stakeholdersExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business valueA Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experienceWhat we offerAn international working environment, fueled by respect and a healthy work-life balance tailored to the business and team member’s needs27 paid vacation days (based on fulltime contract) with option to purchase five additional daysThis is mainly an on-site role with hybrid optionsCommuting allowance of €0,25/km or full coverage of public transportation costsA wide variety of internal trainings and development possibilities and a tuition program for external trainingsThe opportunity to pro-actively work on your vitality and fitnessState-of-the-art facilities, including green areas, in-house restaurant and gymAdditional benefits, such as:Attractive pension scheme (your contribution at 4%, ours at 12%)€50 net monthly health insurance contributionTwo (paid) days per year dedicated to volunteering activitiesSeveral fun company events and meaningful initiatives organized throughout the yearAt Applied Medical, we are committed to make a meaningful, positive difference, each and every day.
