Security Engineer – 3+ Month contract (Expected to be 9-12 months in repeated 3 month contracts) – Amsterdam - Unfortunately no ZZP/Freelance The role
We are looking for experienced Security Engineers to design, implement and improve enterprise security platforms. Depending on your seniority, you will either take a technical leadership role, contributing to architecture, roadmaps and planning, or act as a hands‑on specialist with a strong focus on F5 and network security. You will work across multiple security technologies, with an emphasis on implementation, automation and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
Design, configure and implement enterprise security solutions. Manage and optimize platforms including F5, Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA and Cisco ESA/IronPort. Lead technical initiatives and contribute to roadmaps, planning and solution design where applicable. Act as a technical subject matter expert, particularly in F5 and Palo Alto technologies. Develop and implement automation using Ansible, Terraform and Git workflows. Collaborate with architecture, engineering and consulting teams. Support troubleshooting and complex technical challenges. Participate in a 24/7 support rotation. Skills
Proven experience as a Security Engineer in enterprise environments. Strong hands‑on experience with network security platforms;
F5 expertise is particularly important . Experience with security architecture, design and implementation. For lead roles: demonstrated technical leadership and strong consulting skills. Experience developing Ansible playbooks, adapting Terraform modules and using Git. Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, PCNSC, F5 CTS/CSE, Check Point CCSE/CCSM or Cisco CCIE Security are advantageous. Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment.
