Firewall Engineer – Repeated 3 month contracts - 12+ month project – Amsterdam The role We are looking for an experienced Firewall Engineer to support the migration and security of external network connections within a complex enterprise environment. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing firewall rules, security measures and network segmentation required for the migration of Extranet connections. You will work closely with network and security specialists to ensure a secure and smooth migration.
Responsibilities
Design and implement firewall rules required for the migration of Extranet connections.
Develop and maintain security controls and network segmentation.
Manage and optimize enterprise firewall environments.
Support secure Extranet connectivity across European WAN environments.
Troubleshoot technical issues during migrations and operational changes.
Collaborate with network and security specialists on technical designs and migration activities.
Translate technical requirements into practical and secure solutions.
Provide technical consulting and clearly communicate design decisions.
Skills
5+ years of hands-on experience as a Firewall Engineer or Network Security Engineer.
Strong network security design experience within complex enterprise environments.
Hands-on expertise with
Palo Alto, Panorama, Check Point and/or Fortinet .
Experience with
Extranet connectivity and European WAN environments .
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience delivering complex technical changes.
Strong consulting skills combined with hands-on technical expertise.
Relevant certifications such as
Palo Alto PCNSE, Check Point CCSE or Fortinet FCP/FCSS
are preferred.
Experience with
Ansible, Terraform, Git and Python
for network automation is an advantage.
