Ainur is an engineering and research firm in the Netherlands. We build and run software for our clients, and we are looking for a senior full-stack engineer who is strongest on the backend: the integrations, workers and automations that make a client's operation run without a person copying data from one system into another.
The role
Most of our clients run on a mix of bookkeeping software, an ERP, a legacy database and spreadsheets. The work is to build the system that ties those together and takes the manual steps out, then to run it reliably. You design the data model, build the services and the workers, connect the systems, and watch it in production. You also build the screens on top when that is the fastest way to get it into a user's hands. Stack: Go and TypeScript (Node, NestJS) on the server, PostgreSQL, Railway, Cloudflare, Sentry.
What you will work on
Integrations with the systems Dutch companies run on: bookkeeping and ERP tools such as Moneybird and Exact, legacy databases, webhooks in both directions.
Automation against systems that have no API: browser automation with a queue of workers, retries, leases, and an operator who is alerted when a job needs a person.
Bots and small interfaces where the work happens: Telegram bots for hours and status reports, QR check-ins, a dashboard on an office screen.
Queues, scheduled jobs, idempotency, observability: the parts that decide whether a system is still trusted in month three.
Code review, including code written with AI tools, and the tests and runbooks that let a small team operate what it builds.
What we are looking for
Seven or more years building and running backend-heavy systems in production, and at least one integration or automation you owned end to end.
Senior on the server in Go or in TypeScript on Node, and willing to work in the other. Comfortable in React when the job needs a screen.
Strong with PostgreSQL: schema design, migrations, the query plan when it gets slow.
You have operated what you built: on-call, incident write-ups, the fix at 23:00 and the follow-up the next morning.
You can run a technical conversation with a client in English and write down what was decided.
Based in the Netherlands, or elsewhere in the EU.
Nice to have: browser automation with Playwright or browser extensions, Laravel, Kubernetes, Dutch.
What we offer
32 to 40 hours a week. In the Netherlands, employed or freelance. Elsewhere in the EU, freelance.
Pay in line with the market and your experience.
Remote by default. In the Netherlands, on site with a client when it matters.
Work that is yours end to end, a designer next to you, and founders who still write code.
English is the working language. Dutch is welcome.
